Growing our own…
Laird Assessors are proud to support the development of all staff not more so than our apprentice intake. We have found that refocusing recruitment on apprenticeships as well as experienced members of staff allows us to teach them new skills in a relaxed no pressure environment. Slowly allowing staff to be integrated to the company means we can teach the standards and skills required to succeed as a member of laird Assessors as well as a solid understanding of the industry and skills required to succeed.
Laird Assessors have recruited a number of apprentices and have seen them develop into more advanced and skilled positions throughout their time with us. Here is a small selection of the amazing comments our apprentices have given not only on their role but their time within Laird Assessors;
Hollie myles – languages and interpretation assistance
I have been an Apprentice at Laird Assessors for only 4 months Even though I haven’t been here long I feel part of the work family. I look forward to coming to work every day because no day is the same. Each day I learn so much more about the company as a whole not just the department I work for, which is a great way to expand my knowledge and has also helped into deciding of what my future career is.
As a whole the company have offered me so much help and support regarding my career and apprenticeship. I am very lucky to have an apprenticeship in such a wonderful company, to have a chance to work with amazing people and be a part of a brilliant business
Josh Holden – IT support
Working at lairds has been very enjoyable for the time that I have been here, the day to day job brings interesting problems for me to deal with. In 3 years time I hope to have undergone more training so that I can take on more complicated tasks and job roles in the support department.
Liam Adams – logistics administrator
Laird Assessors, to me, has a very friendly atmosphere and I very much enjoy working for such a great company and I hope to grow within the company and see myself as a Logistics Co-ordinator in the near future.
Sean Griffiths – In House Query Engineer
I have developed from a basic administration position to a new role within our in house engineers that challenges my skills on daily basis. I work with a great team that constantly help me and provide the support required in order succeed. I have had a great experience working here, everyone looks out for each other, always helping each other out and the working environment is brilliant.
Jake Realey – desktop engineering support
I love it everyone is just like a big family everyone is there to help. Everyone looks out for one another, I hope to progress onto our query department and learn new skills and develop my knowledge of the role.
Michael Keating – Desktop Engineering Support
Since Joining Laird in November I have enjoyed being part of the Laird family as each day is a challenge in which I am able test the knowledge that I have gained from the team. If I do come across a challenge that I am unable to overcome I am always able to ask for help from my colleagues as they are really supportive.
We’re extremely passionate about offering apprentices long term career prospects with the opportunity to learn new skills without limiting, not only the department they work for but new skills that will help them within the industry and associated fields. Working with a number of training providers allows us to teach staff the basics skills of working life whether that be administration skills, team working or customer service.
We couldn’t be prouder of our home grown staff… Keep an eye out for the journey within the Laird family…
